Captain Ryan Phinney is the owner of Shallow Phins Charters located here in the Lower Florida Keys. Born and raised in Harrisville, Michigan, he started fishing the rivers and lake waters at an early age. For the past 15 summer seasons, he has guided at the premier Alaska Sportsman Fishing Lodge located in heart of the Bristol Bay region.   During these summers in Alaska, he was able to refine his fishing skills and cultivate the patience and experience necessary for professional charter business.

His true passion, however, is fishing the flats and shallow waters of the Florida Keys. In 2010, he started his company Shallow Phins in Big Pine Key. Which is home to the famous migrating Tarpon, larger tailing Permit or Bonefish, along with Sharks, Barracudas, Redfish, Cobia, Jacks, just to name a few!
